A PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) card is a typical ID card made with 100% PVC. Cards are used for Identification, Access Control, Credit/Debit, Membership, and much more.

Standard size for PVC cards is 2-1/8" x 3-3/8", and thickness for most applications is 30mil.

Identatronics stocks a variety of PVC, CR-80 cards. Cards are available in white or an assortment of colors with or without HiCo or LoCo Magnetic Stripe. Cards can be purchased blank or custom printed to specifications.

PVC Composite cards are usually a combination of PVC and Polyester. A Composite card is preferred when using a laminating or re-transfer printer. This material is constructed to withstand higher printer temperatures and prevent less card warping.

A Proximity card is a "contactless" smart card that can be read without inserting a physical card into a reader device. Proximity cards, tags, fobs, or wristbands are all a type of "contactless" devices. When held near a proximity reader, a programmed card number is identified, and the reader produces a sound, or red/green light is activated to indicate the card is read.

The term "Proximity" or prox refers to a card or device that reads a frequency of 125 kHz. Newer contactless devices use a frequency of 13.56 MHz.

The ProxKey III is a proximity card keyfob for access control offering HID proximity technology in a convenient, pocket size device. The proximity card keyfob easily attaches to a key ring, badge clip or lanyard. The ProxKey III is built to withstand harsh operating environments or handling.

The ProxKey III is suited for use in access control applications where a Photo ID is not required.

Proximity UBands are a new wearable solution to replace or supplement existing contactless applications. Featuring 35-bit prox card technology integrated into a reusable silicone wristband, UBand-BLXX-PRX-35 UBands are an excellent option for convenient hands free operation. Proximity UBands are particularly popular where they can be used to supplement or replace existing proximity cards used for physical access, logical access, cashless transactions and other one-card solutions.
